About The Flow Farm

Our family moved from South Africa to Ireland during the Pandemic in 2020 and like most, our lives changed! We had a couple of bustling businesses still in Jozi that we tried to run from here and setup a new life in Ireland. Since then, Paul has been able to follow his dream of specialising in Emergency Medicine, and I have had the privilege of a career change to something I’ve always dreamed of - working with yoga, nature and horses and having the freedom to choose which business hat to wear.

I didn’t know what that would look like, but I just knew it had to be in my future somehow. So, as per my usual decision-making process, I decided to wing it. Get the horses first and everything else will follow!

Our company CR ELEC SA has been importing and selling side channel blowers in South Africa for about 20 years. We are now proudly bringing that here to Ireland, to better service the northern hemisphere. The Flow Farm will be handling the sales for this neck of the woods.

I have been teaching yoga and meditation for my own sanity for about 9 years. There is nothing like watching stressed out, busy people arriving and you can see them ticking as they begin a class. But by the end, there is only a zen like blob of the person that arrived! I love watching that transformation take place. I am blessed to live in a village that has a charming little community center where I hold space for yoga to take place every week. In the summer, if the weather is nice, we can meet up in the garden here too, which is lovely! I’m hoping to incorporate yoga and horses, so watch this space! I did a training a million moons ago in aerial yoga and am eager to set it up here!

About a year ago I decided to go ahead with this idea of working with horses, and because we fancy ourselves as DIY capable, we set about building an arena and field stable. It’s been an extremely hard road (lots of rock in the ground here) and we are pleased to be almost finished with it. This year, thanks to a laminitic pony, we are creating a track system around the house.

We have some beautiful horses who I had no idea what to do with. Remember I said this was a dream? The reality was, I didn’t know how to achieve any of this! I decided to start learning. I’ve signed up to every natural horse person website on the first 10 pages of Google! I have learned so many conflicting things and looked at so much stuff I just couldn’t put into practice because these horses of mine have to start right at the beginning! And so do I! I am currently enrolled in an Animal Behaviour & Training Instructor course. I hadn’t ever dreamed of this, but started here as I couldn’t find a trainer to help me the way I thought the horses needed to be trained. I am a perpetual learner and this feels so natural to me. Learning from the horses body language every session, trying to read what is being said and then asking a question of them in learning something new. It’s magical.

I enrolled to learn Equine Assisted Learning and Therapeutic Riding. I did this one without knowing why. But when I started there, it was clear to see, this was exactly what I was looking for and where I needed to be. I love watching the progression week to week of the children who come and how they settle into themselves and an understanding of the horses they work with. I love watching the transformation of an overloaded nervous system listen to the gentle clip-clop of a horse and feel it’s moving body under them, and see the human being regulated, calmer and often with a smile on their faces.

This has lead to looking deeper into personal development coaching and offering a combination of everything I have in my toolbox to facilitate self healing.

This is a journey still for me and I’m excited you’re here to walk it with me.
